We cover airline loyalty programs across the three major airline alliances (Skyteam, Star Alliance and oneworld), spanning the globe.
US-based Frequent Flyer Airline Loyalty Programs
If you are based in the US, US Airline Loyalty Programs may in fact not be the best loyalty program for you and your travel patterns. Other loyalty programs from the same alliance of carriers you usually fly may make it easier to gain elite status with your regular travel patterns, for less cost, with more perks (including US lounge access).
United and American Airlines are notorious for not offering lounge access for frequent flyers until the very top-tiers of their airline loyalty programs. These tiers are unachievable for many frequent flyers, even if they do fly fairly often for business or leisure. If you fly United, consider other Star Alliance airline loyalty programs that don’t have a minimum number of flights on the native carrier. For regular American Airlines frequent flyers, consider other airline loyalty programs within the oneworld airline alliance without a minimum native flight requirement to gain elite status faster.
If you do have regular international flights with a particular alliance (such as transatlantic travel with oneworld), then you can also look at loyalty programs with minimum native flight requirements (such as the minimum eligible flight requirement for elite status with British Airways).
