Lounge Review: Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow

Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Entrance

I used to hold Star Alliance Gold years ago, before shifting over to oneworld, so it’s been a while since I last did the four Star Alliance lounge hop at London Heathrow Terminal 2. My favourite lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2 used to be the United Club, but I have to say it is now the Singapore Airlines Lounge.

The food, for an airport lounge, is outstanding. The bar selection is great. It’s spacious, yet feels private and quiet even when busy. The staff are friendly. It’s just a really, really nice airport lounge.

This is Forward of the Wing’s 2025 review of the Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2 (the Star Alliance terminal).

B Gates at Heathrow

Location of the Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow

The Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2 is located at the B Gates, next to the Air Canada Lounge.

Once you pass through security (at the A Gates), follow the signs for the B Gates around to the right, past the Lufthansa Lounge and down the escalators. Beyond the Louis Vuitton store and Gate A16 is the sign for the B Gates. Head down the escalator and along the travellators, under the Terminal 2 apron.

Once at the other side, head up the escalators, then turn left. You will see the Singapore Airlines Lounge and Air Canada Lounge signage.

Note, the walk from A Gates to B Gates takes around 10 minutes. Travelators only go in one direction, so if your flight is departing from the A Gates, allow about 15 minutes before boarding to walk back to the A Gates.

Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Opening Hours

The Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2 opens at 5:30am and closes at 10pm everyday.

Note that if you are catching one of the 6am-6:30am Star Alliance flights (Lisbon, Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt and Warsaw), you probably won’t have time to get to this lounge at the B Gates and back to the A Gates in time for boarding. To play it safe, I’d say only head here if your flight is departing after 7am or if your flight is departing from B Gates (the 6:30am Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul departs from the B Gates).

The last Star Alliance flight of the night is the Air China flight bound for Beijing, so this lounge closes at the time of boarding for that flight.

Seating

As you walk into the lounge, on the right hand side, there is an additional seating area with armchairs and low tables which I think is only used when the main section of the lounge is full.

Beyond the buffet area, in the main lounge, there is bar seating, armchairs with low tables, dining tables, communal workstation tables, and more armchairs along the panoramic windows. There is counter seating around the outside of this lounge, perfect for solo travellers or couples, or getting some work done. In the middle section of this lounge, there are private high-back booth seats ideal for working, which offer some additional privacy from the rest of the lounge. However, the way this lounge is partitioned, every area feels sectioned off and private.

Whether you are travelling for leisure or business, solo, with a significant other, with family or with colleagues, there is seating to suit your needs.

Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Panoramic Views

Planespotting Views

The Singapore Airlines Lounge has panoramic windows overlooking the London Heathrow Terminal 2 apron down one side of the lounge. The view faces west, so you are treated to fantastic sunset plane watching for evening flights.

A Singapore Sling and an armchair along the window is a great way to relax before your flight, whether you are just travelling to Europe or to the other side of the world.

Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Food Options

In my humble opinion, I think that the Singapore Airlines Lounge has the best food selection of any of the Star Alliance lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 2.

I think the selection is absolutely fantastic and broad enough to cater to all tastes and dietary requirements.

Today, I had an evening flight, so I was here for the dinner service. Here is the fantastic menu that was available on my visit:

  • Chana Masala
  • Steamed Rice
  • Mee Goreng
  • Pad Thai
  • Pasta with Tomato and Mascarpone
  • Baked Cheesy Pork Meatballs
  • Soy Ginger Chicken
  • Beef Stroganoff
  • Madras Chicken Curry
  • Tofu Teriyaki
  • Ham and Salami
  • Cheese Platter
  • Fresh Fruit Salad
  • Black Forest Pudding
  • Vegan Hummus and Chickpea Wrap
  • Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich
  • Greek Salad
  • Mixed Leaves Salad
  • Pasta Salad with Sundried Tomato Pesto
  • Quinoa and Chickpea Salad with Soy and Ginger Dressing
  • Chicken Egg Soup
  • Mushroom Soup
  • Self-serve Laksa Station (Broth, rice noodles, tofu, eggs, sprouts, sambal and garnishes)
  • Oat, Lemon and Raisin Cookies
  • Double Chocolate Cookies
  • Coconut Granola Bites
  • Banana Toffee Loaf
  • Mackies of Scotland Traditional Ice Cream

Truly a great international selection to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. The Singapore Airlines at London Heathrow used to have Singapore Sling Ice Cream, a true highlight of this lounge, but sadly no longer. In all though, a great selection and a step above most airport lounges. Definitely the best of the Star Alliance Lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 2, closely followed by the United Club.

Bar Selection at Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow

Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Bar

Again, just like the food selection, the Singapore Airlines Lounge has the best bar selection of all the Star Alliance lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 2 in my opinion.

For a start, a staffed bar, with a selection of signature cocktails, champagne, beer, wine and spirits are available.

Yes, the Singapore Airlines Lounge is now the only Star Alliance Lounge at London Heathrow to still serve champagne.

For Guinness lovers, they also have Guinness on tap. And I can’t forget to not highlight that they serve Singapore Slings here. If you haven’t tried one before, trust me, they are fantastic. Gin, Cointreau, Cherry Brandy, DOM Benedictine, Pineapple and Lime Juice, Grenadine and Bitters. Boozy but absolutely delicious and a must try whether you are just visiting a Singapore Airlines lounge or actually visiting Singapore.

Here is the bar selection that was available on my visit to the Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2:

Guinness and Tiger Draft Beer Taps

Beer

  • Stella Artois
  • Peroni
  • Guinness Extra Cold (on tap)
  • Tiger (on tap)
Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Wine

  • Arcobello Prosecco
  • La Poda Albarino 2023
  • OltreMare Pecorino
  • Klein Kasteelberg Chenin Blanc 2024
  • Figini Gavi 2023
  • Montfrin la Tour Rosé 2023
  • Klein Kasteelberg Grenache Noir 2022
  • Marques de Reinosa Rioja Tempranillo
Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Spirits

Spirits

  • Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • Johnnie Walker Black Label Scotch Whisky
  • Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky
  • Jack Daniels Whiskey
  • Jim Beam Bourbon
  • Captain Morgan Jamaica Rum
  • Captain Morgan Spiced Gold
  • Lambs Navy Rum
  • Campari
  • Hennessey Original
  • Pimms
  • Kahlua
  • Baileys
  • Aperol
  • Malibu
  • Drambuie
  • Martini Rosso
  • Martini Blanco
  • Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • Absolut Vodka
  • Hayman’s Connoisseur Dry Gin
Cocktail Selection

Cocktails

  • Singapore Sling
  • Mojito
  • Blue Lagoon
  • Long Island Iced Tea
  • Stabilizer
  • Cointreau Sour
  • Pina Colada
  • English Garden
  • Exotic Citrus Cooler
  • Apple and Kiwi Cooler (non-alcoholic)

An excellent bar selection for any airport lounge. There truly is something for everyone. There are also a full range of non-alcoholic options available too, including a range of juices and infused waters, and mocktails available on request.

Bathroom
Singapore Airlines Lounge London Heathrow Shower
Gilchrist and Soames Zero% Toiletries

Bathrooms and Showers

The London Heathrow Singapore Airlines Lounge features modern, private individual bathroom and shower suites.

Shower suites feature rain showers with body shower heads, luxury Gilchrist & Soames Zero% toiletries, and fluffy white towels. This is a great touch, as the B Gates at Heathrow Terminal 2 are for widebody aircraft flying mainly long-haul routes, so it’s nice to know that you can freshen up ahead of your flight, whether you are departing from London Heathrow or just transiting through.

I didn’t see too many shower suites so I can imagine these must get busy at peak times. I do think the showers at the United Club Lounge nearby are better (and there are more of them), so if you are planning on taking a shower, it might be worth heading there first, then coming to the Singapore Airlines Lounge afterwards to relax.

How to Access the Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow

Access to the Singapore Airlines Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2 is the same as other Star Alliance Lounges:

  • Singapore Airlines Business Class and First Class passengers (no guests)
  • Star Alliance Business Class and First Class passengers (no guests)
  • Star Alliance Gold passengers (+1 guest)
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Gold members (+1 guest)
  • Solitaire PPS Club members (can also access First Class Lounge)

Note, for guests of Star Alliance Gold status holders, they must be travelling on the same Star Alliance flight as the status holder.

Conclusion

The Singapore Airlines Lounge is now my favourite Star Alliance lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2. It truly is a step above the others (and a very high bar at that). If you are flying business class or hold Star Alliance Gold, it is absolutely worth visiting if you can.

It’s also well worth exploring the other three Star Alliance lounges at Heathrow Terminal 2 if you can get to the airport early:
